Pyramid of Djoser

The Pyramid of Djoser at Saqqara, and is an example of a step pyramid, which was built of stone. It is the most ancient Egyptian structure created by scientist Imhotep for Pharaoh Djoser in 2650 to NE 

Since this pyramid was one of the first in ancient Egypt, it became the model for subsequent creation of the pyramids in the country. The Pyramid of Djoser has six steps carved out of stone. Inside it is a burial room of King Djoser at a depth of 28 meters from the base of the pyramid and 11 rooms of wives and children of the pharaoh. However, the mummy of Pharaoh Djoser was never found. To his room are several kilometers of tunnels, some of which are dead ends and only one of the fifteen entries in the true pyramid. 

To the pyramid of Djoser, located in Sakarya can be reached from Cairo by taxi, mini bus or train, leaving the station "El Bedrasheyna." You can take the subway, the desired station - «Saqqara road stop».
