The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities
Cairo Egyptian Museum - the largest by number of Egyptian artifacts in the world. It collected 120,000 exhibits that tell the history of ancient Egypt from 3000 BC. e. and to the Roman colonial era.
The building of the Cairo museum was built by architect Marcel Dyunonom in the early 20th century. On the ground floor of the museum contains exhibits that relate to the ancient and medieval periods of the Egyptian kingdom. There are statues of kings and queens of Egypt. Slabs and tombs, delivered from the necropolis of Saqqara, with traditional Egyptian paintings and ornaments. There is a ceramic and jewelry, sculptures Memtuhotepa I, Amenemhat III, Hatshepsut, Akhenaten and Nefertiti's beauty. On the second floor there are artifacts brought from nerazgrablennoy the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. Crown jewel of this exhibition is the "Golden Mask" king. Also on the second floor are 11 mummies and 3 of the sarcophagus of the ancient rulers of Egypt.
Cairo Egyptian Museum is located on the square Meydan Al-Tahrir. To it can be reached by subway, by bus or minibus to go to the center of Cairo.
